I was recently at Spotlight and spotted the most amazing gold leather-look fabric. It was amazing and it’s one of the few times I bought supplies without knowing what to make from it. Generally, I am very focussed when I go supply shopping otherwise I’d end up buying everything and leaving with no cash.

I had been wondering what to do with the fabric until I saw this Victoria Novak piece on Nicole Warne.

It’s so easy to make as well. It took me 45 minutes.

You will need: a black headband, glue gun, glue sticks, rose leaves in 2 different sizes, a pencil, gold faux leather fabric.

Trace around the leaves with your pencil onto the back side of the fabric.

Start by gluing the centre leaves, interspersing small leaves with larger ones. Place blobs of glue on the base of the leaf and wrap it under the headband. You can also place some glue between the side of the band and the leaf to secure the leaves upwards.

Complete an entire side of the headband.

After finishing one side of the band, glue the leaves on the side of the headband. Leave this to dry overnight and then you’re race ready.

Happy DIYing! Do let me know if you try it!
