Recently, my Mum got ill and I was in Perth by her side, I also had to cover a load of bills and miss one of my closest friends Clara’s wedding in Tuscany. It was a sad time for me yet after coming back to Dubai, I had limited cash but wanted to make Clara and Cedric something close to my heart to show them how sorry I was that I couldn’t speak at their wedding and that I missed the whole thing. It still hurts me to think about it.

This is a DIY I had been seeing in decor magazines and is just so perfect for a newlywed couple. It takes some patience but I think the final effect is chic and well worth it. This is the finished project on Clara and Cedric’s bed. (That’s their dog Miso modelling):

You will need: 3 white cushion covers (mine are from Ikea), black felt, visoflex/bondaweb, iron, fabric glue/glue gun, sewing pins, paper and fabric scissors, templates for letters from here.

Cut the letters out of the paper print out templates and pin them to the black felt and cut out:

Once they are cut out pin the letters to the sticky side of the visoflex/bondaweb:

Cut around the the visoflex/bondaweb:

From here iron the paper side of the letter (as shown above), then remove the paper and centre the letter onto the cushion:

I used my glue gun (also fabric glue would work) to secure the edges down. Repeat this process for all the letters and cushions and you have the finished set:

I also added these to the gift:

But more on those later. In the mean time, this post is dedicated to my Dubai #BFF Clara. Congratulations my Eurasian sister from another Mr. The most beautiful bride ever.

Let me know what you think!
